Lindbergh Flyers Shut Out Northwest Lions, Advance to District Semis
The #2 seed Lindbergh Flyers girls soccer team cruised to a convincing 3-0 victory over the #7 Northwest Lions on Saturday, May 10th, to secure their spot in the Class 4 District 1 semifinals.
The Flyers dominated the entire match, keeping the Northwest offense at bay. Goalkeeper Madison Mertzlufft played a stellar game, securing a clean sheet by denying every scoring attempt by the Lions.
Lindbergh managed to find the net three times throughout the game,solidifying their lead and controlling the tempo. Their strong performance showcased their offensive prowess and defensive solidity.
With this win, the Flyers advance to the next stage of the tournament and will face a tough challenge against the #3 seed Oakville Tigers in the semifinals. The matchup is scheduled for Tuesday, May 14th, at 6:00 pm at Lindbergh High School.The Flyers will have the home-field advantage and the momentum from their commanding victory as they aim to secure a spot in the district championship game.
