JV Softball Off to a Strong 5-1 Start Ahead of Parkway South Tournament
The JV softball team is making waves early in the season, boasting a 5-1 record after a string of dominant performances and a standout win streak.
After a tough 13-3 loss to Lafayette on Monday (9/8), the team bounced back in a big way. On Wednesday (9/10), they defeated Hillsboro 16-6, and followed it up with a commanding 15-0 shutout over Rockwood Summit on Thursday (9/11).
Earlier in the season, the team picked up a huge win on 9/3 against longtime rival Jackson, 14-10 — a victory that marked the first time in several years JV has come out on top in that matchup. They also notched big wins against Oakville (12-0 on 9/2) and Parkway North (15-0 on 8/28).
The team's success has been fueled by strong performances across the board. Freshman pitchers Camille Partee and Mya Eastwood have been stellar on the mound, keeping opposing offenses in check. Behind the plate, freshman Alyssa Whitman has been rock-solid — and she's just as dangerous at bat, racking up doubles, triples, and even two in-the-park home runs (nearly three!).
Sophomores Emilia Berra and Adelyn Evans have also delivered at the plate, providing consistent offensive firepower.
With a 5-1 record and strong momentum, JV is set to compete in a tournament this weekend at Parkway South. If the past few games are any indication, this team is just getting started.
