The Flyers took on an undefeated Lafayette Lancers squad and battled tough the entire game.
It wasn't until the 64th minute in the game when Lancer, Lexi DeJohn, lead Emily Derucki with a great pass that Derucki snuck past the Flyers goalie, Madison Mertzlufft, to break the tie for the Lancers.
The Flyers kept the game close but were not able to break through the Lancer defense.
Lindbergh was on their offense end early and often where the had a great chance in the 10th minute when Freshman Forward, Kasey Patten, connected with Senior Forward, Elizabeth Mertzlufft, down near the end line. The senior turned and quickly fired a shot on goal that was denied by the Lancers keeper.
 The Flyers got another shot on goal in the 22nd minute from Senior Midfielder, Zoe Earley, that was also corralled by the Lancer goalie. Claire Warren also had a shot on goal in the 33rd minute off of a Lindbergh corner from 32-yards out.
In the 35th minute, Senior Midfielder, Izzi Hegger took a corner kick and put it off the cross bar, inches away from giving the aggressive Flyers the lead right before halftime.
The south end of the field saw a lot of action last night because after the Flyers possessed the ball for the majority of the first half, the Lancers kept control of play for most of the second half.
Madison Mertzlufft killed an early second half chance for the Lancers on a free kick from 35-yards out. She then smothered another great chance for the Lancers on an open shot from 20-yards out.
Lindbergh's defense held strong all night until the Derucki goal in the 64th minute. The Flyers fought to even the game back up at one a piece but were unable to get the job done.
The next time the Flyers are in action is tomorrow night as they travel to Cor Jesu for a 4 PM game.
