Baseball with 2-0 Start in Conference Play

Lindbergh 8, Parkway West 1

The Lindbergh Flyers Varsity Baseball team has ignited their season with a blazing start, showcasing a potent blend of pitching prowess and offensive firepower. Their early 8-2 record, punctuated by a flawless 2-0 beginning in conference play, has sent a clear message to their rivals: the Flyers are a force to be reckoned with.

The week began with a resounding 8-0 shutout victory over the reigning district champion Seckman Jaguars at home, a statement win that set the tone for the days to come. Riding high on this momentum, the Flyers turned their attention to the Parkway West Longhorns, their first conference opponents.

Tuesday's road trip to Parkway West saw the Flyers deliver a masterclass in controlled dominance. The pitching staff was impenetrable, silencing the Longhorns' bats while the offense manufactured runs with efficiency, resulting in a decisive 6-0 victory.

Returning to their home diamond on Wednesday, the Flyers continued their relentless pursuit of victory. With unwavering focus, they once again overpowered the Longhorns, securing an 8-1 triumph. This back-to-back display of dominance solidified their 2-0 start in conference play, a testament to their team's depth and resilience.

Despite the challenges posed by recent rain delays, forcing the rescheduling of Midwest Classic games, the Flyers have maintained their focus. Their only setbacks came against formidable opponents, Vianney and Francis Howell, experiences that have only sharpened their resolve.

As the skies clear and the schedule intensifies, the Flyers are poised for a demanding week, playing four games in five days. Their journey begins on Monday, April 14th, with a road trip to Kirkwood for a 4:15 PM clash. The following day, Tuesday, April 15th, they return home to host Marquette at 4:30 PM, before traveling to Marquette on Wednesday, April 16th, for a 4:15 PM rematch. The week culminates with a home game against Webster Groves on Friday, April 18th, with a 4:30 PM first pitch, before a well-deserved long weekend.

This young Flyers team, brimming with talent and determination, has captured the attention of the conference. With their sights set on continued success, they are ready to face the challenges ahead, one game at a time.
