Baseball Set For 2026 Season Opener
There's excitement as Flyer Baseball prepares to open the 2026 season tomorrow at 12:00 PM at home against Vianney in the opening game of the 56th Annual Lindbergh–Mehlville Tournament.
Coming off an impressive 24–10 season a year ago, the Flyers return a strong core of experienced players who are ready to build on last spring's success and set the tone early in tournament play.
Returning Impact Players to Watch
The Flyers bring back a number of key contributors who made a major impact at the plate and on the mound in 2025:
Austin Jones (Sr., 1B/LHP)
One of the most complete players in the lineup, Jones hit .381 with 37 hits and 29 RBIs while also anchoring the pitching staff with a 6–3 record and a 2.13 ERA in 42.2 innings.
Augie Hutchison (Sr., OF)
A spark in the lineup, Hutchison batted .343, scored 26 runs, and added 15 stolen bases, creating constant pressure on opposing defenses.
Aidan Kennedy (Sr., 1B/LHP)
Kennedy provides additional depth on the mound, appearing in 8 games last season and posting a 1–0 record with a 3.65 ERA over 15.1 innings, giving the Flyers another reliable option on the bump.
CJ Luczak (Jr., SS)
A steady presence in the infield and lineup, Luczak hit .311 with 28 hits and 19 RBIs, providing consistency in key situations.
Jack Politte (Jr., 3B/P)
A true two-way standout, Politte hit .300 with 30 hits and 17 RBIs, while also dominating on the mound with a 1.79 ERA over 39 innings.
Karsen Stout (Jr., RF)
A reliable bat and run producer, Stout finished with a .316 average and 18 RBIs, adding depth to the Flyers lineup.
Jon Calcaterra (So., P/3B)
A rising young arm, Calcaterra posted a 2.79 ERA across 32.2 innings, showing poise and potential on the mound.
Nathan Leist (So., P/INF)
Another key arm returning, Leist went 6–1 with a 2.51 ERA, providing valuable innings and consistency.
