The Lindbergh Flyers dominated the Mehlville Panthers in a 56-21 victory on Friday night.
The Flyers struck first with a 1-yard touchdown run by Connor Lanham. After Mehlville tied the game, the Flyers responded with touchdown runs from Kevin Fisher and Sam Estrada to take a 21-7 lead. The Panthers added a late touchdown to make the score 21-14 at halftime.
In the second half, the Flyers exploded for 21 points in the third quarter. Lanham scored his second touchdown of the game, followed by a 34-yard touchdown pass from Estrada to Jacob Cox and another Lanham touchdown run. Lanham tied the Lindbergh single-game rushing touchdown record with his fourth touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter. The Flyers added one more touchdown from Brody Wharton to seal the victory.
With the win, the Flyers finish the regular season with a 7-2 record and are the third seed in the district playoffs. They will host the Fox Warriors in the quarterfinals on Friday, November 1st at 6:00 PM at Flyers Field. The winner of that game will advance to face the top-seeded Jackson Indians in the semifinals.
