Lindbergh High School is proud to announce that, pending Board of Education approval, Mark Giesing has been named the next Head Boys Soccer Coach for the Flyers.
Coach Giesing brings decades of experience, leadership, and a deep connection to Lindbergh soccer. His coaching career began in 1989, during which time he coached both the boys and girls programs at Lindbergh across all levels. He retired from the varsity girls program in 2019 and the varsity boys program in 2023, leaving behind a legacy of success and strong player development.
Among his many accomplishments at Lindbergh, Coach Giesing guided the boys program to two Final Four appearances in 2019 and 2023. On the girls side, he led the Flyers to a second place finish at state in 2000. His impact extends well beyond the high school level, reflecting a lifelong commitment to soccer and to student-athletes.
In addition to his work at Lindbergh, Coach Giesing served for two years as the Head Coach of the Fontbonne University Women's Soccer team. He also helped create and served as President of the Coca-Cola–St. Louis Soccer Club and has coached for a variety of local clubs, including his current role with St. Louis Scott Gallagher.
Coach Giesing's contributions to soccer have been widely recognized. He was named Missouri Soccer Coach of the Year in 2000 and received the St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame Coach of the Year award in 2023. He is also a member of the Lindbergh High School Athletic Hall of Fame for his coaching achievements.
"We are extremely excited to welcome Coach Giesing back to coaching at Lindbergh," said Scott Luczak, Athletic Director. "He embodies what Flyers Soccer represents and has an unmatched commitment to our Green & Gold. His passion for the game, combined with his extensive knowledge and experience, places him among the most respected high school soccer coaches in the state of Missouri"
Pending Board approval, Coach Giesing will officially assume his role as Head Boys Soccer Coach as the Flyers prepare for the 2026 season.
