Congratulations to Lindbergh's 2022 Scholar Athlete

Congratulations to senior Ella Wolfard who was announced as Lindbergh's recipient of the Post-Dispatch Scholar Athlete of the year. Student athletes dedicate their time to perform at high levels in the classroom and in competition.  Athletes were nominated and voted on by Lindbergh Coaches.  This award is presented to one individual from each high school in the area.  The student-athlete must be ranked in the top 25% in the class and also display high successes at the varsity level in athletics.

Ella has excelled in the classroom, with a cumulative weighted GPA of a 4.12, while still dedicating time to be successful at basketball and soccer, and as a captain in both programs.  She will continue her soccer career at Quincy University.  Below is more information from the Post-Dispatch about Ella.  You can also read about other scholar athletes from other schools by visiting the Post-Dispatch article.

Goal: "I want to graduate college and become a physician's assistant in either neurology or orthopedics. I really want to make an impact on athletes who get injured because I know how it feels to not be able to play the sport you love and how much support they need."

Favorite subject: Biology. "There is never a time in that class that doesn't keep me intrigued. I enjoy learning about genes and animals. Also, my teacher, Mr. Cintel, really does a great job of bringing biology to life with the different labs and lessons he does."

Favorite book: "Then She was Gone" by Lisa Jewell.

Role model: My mom. "She is one of the strongest people I know. She has taught me with her words and actions how to be a strong-willed woman. I admire her caring attitude and how much she does for me and our family. I hope I am as successful as her in life."
