HANCOCK HS - Girls basketball played the championship game of the 2024 Southside Classic on Friday night against the Oakville Tigers at Hancock High School. The Flyers came away victorious with a 42-39 win to become back-2-back Southside Classic Champs.

Sam Colvin and Kate Ritter were selected to the all-tournament team for their performances throughout the tournament. Colvin had 36 points, 22 rebounds, and 6 assists throughout the tournament while Ritter had 37 points, 13 rebounds, and 9 assists.

This is the 7th time in the last 10 seasons that the Flyers have won the Southside Classic and the second consecutive year that the girls defeated the Oakville Tigers in the finals of the tournament.

Girls basketball will now travel to Cor Jesu to take on the Chargers for a 6 PM tip-off at Cor Jesu. Cor Jesu has a 4-0 record and is coming off a 48-41 win over the Webster Groves Statesmen.
