Lindbergh Varsity Flyers were victorious against Blue Springs South 13-8 on Friday at Lindbergh High School in a rematch of the 2022 State Semifinals matchup.
Lindbergh got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after an error scored one run, Adler Crask homered to right field, scoring three runs, Michael Politte singled, scoring one run, Macallan White doubled, scoring one run, and Lane Elder doubled, scoring two runs.
Lindbergh Varsity Flyers added one run in the third after Blue Springs South  committed an error.
Blue Springs South scored two runs in the top of the fourth on a home run to left field by Aidan Howladar.
Jack Politte earned the win for Lindbergh.  The starting pitcher allowed six hits and two runs over three innings, striking out none and walking one. Drew Deaver took the loss for Blue Springs South. They went three innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits, striking out two and walking one. Mac Collins began the game for Blue Springs South. They allowed eight hits and eight runs (zero earned) over two innings, striking out two and walking one. Joey Kelley tossed one and one-third innings of shutout ball for Lindbergh  in relief. The reliever surrendered zero hits, striking out one and walking none.
Lindbergh  accumulated 13 hits in the game. Elder provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Lindbergh  with four runs batted in. The catcher went 3-for-3 on the day.
Politte, Ethan Cantareria, and Aiden Steuber each collected multiple hits for Lindbergh Varsity Flyers.
Cantareria stole two bases.
Blue Springs South tallied 12 hits in the game. Collin Dobson provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Blue Springs South with three runs batted in. They went 1-for-4 on the day. Leadoff hitter Howladar led Blue Springs South with three hits in four at bats.
Grant Hollister, Jackson Stettnisch, and Mason Ward each collected multiple hits for Blue Springs South. Blue Springs South turned one double play in the game.
The Flyers will finish off the Midwest Classic at home tomorrow against the Longhorns of Parkway West. First pitch at 11:00 AM.
