The Lindbergh Flyers put on a dominant performance in their Thursday night matchup against the Hazelwood Central Hawks, securing a decisive 24-0 victory.
After a slow start for both teams, the Flyers broke the deadlock with a 53-yard touchdown run by senior quarterback Sam Estrada. The Flyers' defense continued to pressure the Hawks, forcing a turnover on fourth down and leading to a 32-yard field goal by Jackson Bailey.
In the second half, the Flyers continued their offensive onslaught, with sophomore quarterback Noah Norman scoring a 37-yard touchdown. Sam Estrada added another touchdown with a 41-yard run, solidifying the Flyers' victory.
Estrada finished the game with 141 rushing yards and two touchdowns on nine carries. The Flyers' ground game amassed a total of 273 rushing yards, averaging an impressive 8.81 yards per carry.
The Flyers' defense was equally impressive, limiting the Hawks to under 150 total yards and recording three sacks. Their relentless pass rush kept the Hazelwood Central quarterback under constant pressure.
The Flyers will now return home for their next game on September 27th at 7 PM, where they will host the Ritenour Huskies. The Flyers hold a 7-2 record against the Huskies dating back to 1990. The game will also be the annual Pink Out game for the Flyers.
