The Lindbergh Flyers secured a convincing 28-14 win over the Ladue Horton Watkins Rams in their Friday night matchup.
The game began with a quick strike from the Rams, as Jonathan Nichols hauled in a 64-yard touchdown pass from Jack Hensley. However, the Flyers responded with an 8-yard touchdown run by Connor Lanham and took the lead just before the end of the first quarter when Jack Politte returned an interception 58 yards for a touchdown.
While both teams traded touchdowns in the second quarter, the Flyers maintained a 21-14 lead at halftime. In the second half, Lindbergh's dominant time of possession allowed them to control the pace of the game. Connor Lanham continued his stellar performance, rushing for 253 yards and two touchdowns on 40 carries. The Flyers' offensive line, affectionately known as "The Pancake Platoon," provided exceptional support for Lanham.
Defensively, Jameson Honey emerged as a force, sacking the Rams' quarterback four times and disrupting their offensive rhythm.
The victory marks the first time Lindbergh has defeated Ladue on their home field since 2000. With this win, the Flyers evened the series with the Rams at 3-3 since 2000.
Improving to 2-1 on the season, the Flyers now sit in second place in their district, trailing only Seckman. Their next challenge will come on Thursday, September 19th, as they travel north to face the Hazelwood Central Hawks.
